Dr. Jennifer Collins, a Castle Connolly Alllergy and Immunology Top Doctor and New York’s List of Rising Stars and Super Doctors, brings over a decade of experience practicing medicine, conducting research and teaching to Gramercy Allergy & Asthma. She is a thought leader in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology. She is affiliated with NYU Langone Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital. Her focus is centered on problem solving to identify realistic and timely solutions to your needs. Continued dedication to learning through academic national conferences and lectures keeps her abreast of the latest cutting edge treatments.
Dr. Collins is President Elect of the New York State Allergy Society, an organization that represents all physicians engaged in the allergy, asthma and/or immunology specialty in New York. It’s Dr. Collins’s pleasure to bring all of this knowledge to Gramercy Allergy & Asthma to provide comprehensive care for all of your allergy, asthma and immunological needs. Core to her approach is taking a detailed history to capture your symptoms, identifying the cause of your problem and providing a fast solution. She provides expert care in: allergies of the eyes, nose throat, and skin, asthma, chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, skin rashes, contact dermatitis, eczema, eosinophilia, drug allergy, aspirin allergy and desensitization, and immunological problems.
Originally from Maryland, Dr. Collins is double boarded in in Internal Medicine and Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, attended medical school at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. Residency and fellowship brought her to New York where she trained at Beth Israel Medical Center and Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Afterwards, Dr. Collins spent 4 years as Assistant Professor at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where she developed an expertise in treating allergies of the sinuses and nasal polyposis, she is one of a few physicians in New York City who performs aspirin desensitization for AERD and aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD). She works closely with ear nose and throat surgeons during your aspirin desensitization.
Widely published in allergy, gynecology and psychology journals, she has also published chapters on allergy, lectured and presented research at the Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. She is the author of Itchy and Scratchy- New York’s top allergy blogs. She continues to have a dedication to teaching her patients and medical students from New York Medical College who rotate through the office and teaches medical residents at Beth Israel Medical Center- Mount Sinai on topics like aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD). cosmetic allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, drug allergy, allergic asthma and eosinophilia.
She is an active member of the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and the American Contact Dermatitis Society.
In her down time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 children, and rescue dog (Chester). She is an active hiker, photographer and animal lover.
